Smith & Wesson r8 -Modeling stage-

My first stint into real production modeling after following Tim Bergholz's incredibly detailed tutorial. I've now effectively learned so many techniques and lost the fear I once had for 3D modeling. This is not a perfect model by any means, but it is an important first step for me, because now I can choose to incorporate 3D into my 2D workflows, and I understand the needs of production artists a bit better.

I'm also playing with Marmoset 4 for the renders using what I know from actual photography, so it is exciting to see other skills at play from my time as an on-set filmmaker.

This is my try for 3/4 lighting in marmoset, I tried a very basic setup I have used in the past, doing simple great is better than complex poorly.

I looked for some inspiration from actual gun photoshoots, but didn't spend long in research, I researched as I went.

And some more artistic choice, probably not a good image but it is important to also acknowledge our less than stellar work so we may improve.
